I stopped playing after 10 minutes

Not because it was bad. It was a good game. The combat system was well thought out and the general feel of the game was good. You scored with the loading screen, hooked me before the game even began. I just couldn't take the lag and constant battling every 10 seconds.

I believe your lag issues stem from the fact that you are trying to move EVERYTHING at once. Instead of keeping trees completely invisible, try removing them from the stage by calling "removeChild." You should still have a reference to the tree somewhere. Remove trees that are out of the view of the game window and only add them when you need to see them. An efficient way to determine what needs to be affected within a certain area (such as your viewing plane) try using binary space partitioning (Wiki it).

I don't move the stage, I use V cam. Google it.

I will try to work on the lag though. The rate of the battles has already been tweaked on a little bit.
Thanks for trying to help, and thank you so much for the review!

Good game

I do believe it takes more power to run a computer than it does to run the handheld version of this. So that "no batteries" required stuff is a play on our consumer minds.

Fun game, good highscore system, simple, quick. Only thing i would have liked is for a change of sounds for the buttons. After a while that piano sound can get annoying. Maybe add drum sounds or flute or something else relaxing.

FunfaceGames responds:

It's cool that you mentioned that (I've heard those piano sounds a million times now!) My friend was just talking about adding the ability to upload your own sounds for it... that would be a riot!

For now I may seriously consider adding a couple more sound sets since it's still under a meg.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Great Game

I had fun with this for a while

I got to the Barron and it just got borring. Like all i could do is defend my two guys while the paladin did stuff since my damage was usually insignificant. And then even he died. I didn't play enough to use all the different classes but i got the jist of the game.

Suggestion: When the combat medic uses re-energize, he should be a little smarter about it, especially in "tactical" mode. At one point he was at about 75% health, and only like 40 mana/focus. I was almost full health with 80 focus. Yet he gave me re-energize for some reason.

Krinn responds:

You are right about the AI I will have to fix that.

In the Baron fight you ARE supposed to play as the healer / Defense :D
